Today’s Turning Point with David Jeremiah – Tut-tut…

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 78:1-4

Speaking a generation ago, evangelist Vance Havner said, “We are suffering today from a species of Christianity as dry as dust, as cold as ice, as pale as a corpse, and as dead as King Tut. We are suffering not from a lack of correct heads but of consumed hearts.”

In regard to the world, things have gotten worse since then; and many churches are still dry, cold, pale, and dead. But that’s not the whole story. Everywhere on earth the Lord is raising up an excited generation determined to follow Him at all costs. Let’s be part of that group.

We mustn’t be conformed, but transformed. We mustn’t be compromised, but committed. We can’t go with the flow; it’s time to swim against the current. God is doing something in our days, for He will never leave Himself without a witness. Psalm 45:17 says, “I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations.”

Don’t be discouraged. Don’t give up until you shout His praises to the generation to come.

In every generation there are those whose hearts are warmed as they hear the Scriptures opened up and the Christ of those Scriptures exalted.
