Proverbs 18:10

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

If there was ever a time in our modern society when we needed to hear from heaven, it is now. We need God to move on our behalf each and every day to keep watch over us and protect us, to lead us and guide us.

We need favor and blessing of God upon our lives and the lives of our family members. We need an infusion of the Holy Spirit in our households so that we may dwell in peace even when it seems that all hell is breaking loose.

Remember, our God is a strong tower! We can run to Him in the day of adversity and be saved. He is all-knowing and all-powerful. You have never faced an enemy that could not be defeated by the almighty God. When things appear grim and you are surrounded by adversity, look to the One who holds the world in the palm of His hand—who knows your every thought and counts your every tear—and rest assured that everything is going to be alright.

You may feel like the only one on the planet who is trying to live a righteous life, but stand firm, persuaded that the fight belongs to the Lord. He will protect and sustain you when you put your life in the His capable hands. Our God is an awesome God!

Today’s Blessing: 

Father, bless us and keep us. Help us to always celebrate the blessings that You have poured out in our lives, especially those wonderful individuals that we have given ourselves to in covenant relationship. Let us be committed to do the work that God has for us to do; that we can see the foundations of righteousness rebuilt in this nation, and the goodness, mercy, grace, power, and blessings of God poured out upon our children and our children’s children. In Your precious name, we pray and ask, Amen.

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

We all have fears. People fear failure, the unknown and change. People fear rejection, which is why they’re willing to morph into what other people believe they should be. People fear conflict, which is why they’ll do anything to avoid it. People fear death because they’re afraid that the promises of everlasting life might not be true.

Whenever I look for a profile of courage to encourage me, the shepherd boy named David, who faced a giant with a slingshot, tops my list. But for all his acts of courage, he said he didn’t just have a fear; he had many fears. And when he considered his fears, no matter what they were, he had one solution—to seek the Lord. When he sought the Lord, he was “delivered” from them, which means the fears were taken off of him, but he was not delivered from the situation. Suddenly in the midst of conflict, he had the courage to do what he needed to do to solve the problem, whether it was a giant or to rule and build the kingdom. Courage for David, and for all of us, is the strength to control our fears and to do what God calls us to do.

May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the Lord bring to you blessed assurance—the peace of God that surpasses all understanding which will crush every element of fear. May God bring you through the fiery furnace without the smell of smoke upon you. May God lift every burden from you and give you the faith to shout the victory on the darkest night of your life. God is your helper and your strength; therefore, it is well with your soul. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad. The battle is the Lord’s, and the victory has already been won in Jesus’ name, Amen.

O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me.

Today, I’m asking you to turn loose of the things that have held you back. Stop drowning in desperation and despair. Rise up! This year is going to be God’s year in your life. It is the year where doors will be opened in your favor while others will be closed that would cause you harm. Trust Him to handle things without trying to micromanage the details of your life. Turn loose of the reins and allow God to have His way in you!

This year, with the help of Almighty God, you can get over your heartaches, the rejection you’ve faced, and any controlling relationships! Get over what Satan has done to you, too! Turn loose of the resentment and bitterness…those who have abused you and lied about you. Turn it all over to the Lord and watch as your life becomes filled with joy once again.

Let the misery melt away and let the Son shine in!

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

Our God is the God of yesterday, today and tomorrow. He’s the God who can go into your past and erase the pain. He’s the God who can make a way for you today. And He’s the God who’s already working out details in your future long before you arrive in your next conflict. God is the One who is there whenever and wherever You need Him.

You and I have a common enemy. Jesus called him a thief who comes to rob, kill and destroy. And whenever the devil comes against you, your family, your physical health or your finances, because God has already gone into your tomorrows, He pulls out a chair at a table of provision. He says, “Sit down and be blessed while I defeat your enemies, build your business, open the windows of heaven, and pour out blessings that you cannot contain.”

If you are going through a difficult time, recognize that God has already charted the course. He is not hemmed in by your wristwatch. He knew where you’d be today and was already working out the answer to your problem long before you knew the problem. So rather than worry about it, sit down at His table, be thankful and bless His name!

Now David was greatly distressed … but David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

Did you know that sometimes the most powerful motivational speech you’ll ever hear is the one you give yourself? That’s what David did. At the moment when he had suffered the greatest military defeat of his life and his own army was threatening to stone him, David found a way to strengthen himself in the Lord. There wasn’t anyone else to encourage him, so he made up his mind to encourage himself. He rose to his best when everyone thought he should be at his worst. He said to himself, “I might be knocked down, but I’m not staying down. I may be surrounded by bitterness, but I’m not letting bitterness get inside me. I’m not giving in to fear or worry. This did not come to stay; it came to pass.”

Today, decide that you’re not going to let anything get the best of you. Look yourself in the mirror and remember that people don’t see what God sees in you. When He looks at you, He sees a king or a queen. He calls you a joint heir with Jesus to His kingdom. He says, “You’re My child. You are the most priceless of all My possessions. I am the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and I’m on your side. Nothing is impossible with Me.

Now when [the Pharisees and Scribes] saw some of His disciples eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.

The Pharisees were of the right people and the right lineage; they just had the wrong approach. Rather than relate to Jesus Christ and what He wanted to do in their lives, they argued and found fault with Him based on their flawed religious knowledge. Jesus had already turned water to wine, fed the five thousand, healed lepers, walked on water, and raised the dead. Now the Pharisees come and just sit and watch to see what they can find Him doing wrong. Religious people always want to point out what’s wrong before they will talk about what’s right.

What did they find wrong to disqualify Jesus? His disciples ate bread with unwashed hands! The Pharisees had taken a law stated in Leviticus 16:28 that regarded the high priest washing before going into the tabernacle, and they built it into a long list of constant hand washings. That’s what religion does. You’re going to meet some religious people like that. Don’t become like them and start making a religion out of rules and regulations, building lists of do’s and don’ts. When you have a relationship with the Son of God who died for you and set you free, never let religion get in the way of loving and obeying Him.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

If we’re going to be overcoming, triumphant believers, it’s time we rediscover our true identity. The way we triumph is not through force but with the power of God’s love through Jesus Christ. That kind of triumph comes from the God who is greater, and He placed that greatness in you. For greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world!

Our God is greater than every enemy because He took your enemies to a place called Calvary and conquered them there. He is greater than every sickness because He bore your sickness upon His back, and by His stripes you are healed. He is greater than every need because He will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory. He is greater than every bondage and addiction for He is the Anointed One who breaks the yoke of bondage and sets captives free, and whom the Son sets free is free indeed. He is the God who is greater than every mountain that you’re climbing because He can take that mountain and cast it into the sea. He’s greater than every sorrow because in His presence is the fullness of joy.

Don’t let the world weigh you down today. Our God is greater!

Father, we thank You that we are triumphant through You. Now Lord, bless us with victory in our personal lives, in our relationships, in our churches, in this community. Bless us with goodness and grace and mercy and peace and Your favor in all things that as we march in triumph, those who are walking in darkness will recognize that the Light of the world lives in us, and they’ll be drawn to You, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Joshua 1:8

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

For Joshua to become great, the first ingredient God told him he needed is courage. The second ingredient is to stay connected to His Word. In order for Joshua to be successful and prosper, he couldn’t just think about the Word, he had to live in the Word. God was saying “Keep this Word before your eyes in the morning and evening, in your mind during the day, and out of your mouth when you speak. Do whatever it says. If you’ll do this, no matter where you go or what you do, no matter the problems you face or the needs you have, no matter the giants that come against you or the cities that need to be defeated, no matter the land that needs to be conquered or the hour in which you’re living, you will be a success!”

God said it. Observe the Word, speak it, keep it, don’t turn from it, and you’ll be successful wherever you go.

May God restore your confidence so that you can walk with a supernatural strength and courage you have never known before. May God remove the barriers that are before you. May God open the doors that have been closed and let a door be open that no man can close. May God give to you, to your business, to your family a successor so that there can be success sustained for generations from the fruit of your labor. May the God of heaven anoint you now with an anointing to be successful in what you do because the Lord delights in the prosperity of the righteous. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Our God is a God of new beginnings. Every twenty-four hours, He gives us a brand-new day; every seven days, a new week; every thirty days, a new month; every twelve months, a new year. And it is our prerogative to make sure that we maximize what God gives us every time He gives us the opportunity to do things new. I want to challenge you to unleash the power of God in your life and make a difference in other people’s lives more than ever before. Why every day? Because it’s not your day. Every day is the day that the Lord has made, and we, His children, should rejoice in it.

If you’re going to make a difference today, you have to decide what you will choose to do and not do, what you will choose to say and not say. If you’re going to see God’s greatness poured out in your life, you have to make up your mind that no matter what it takes, no matter what you have to go through, no matter what you have to do, no matter what you have to learn or become, you are going to make a difference.

Heavenly Father, bless us and keep us. Make Your face to shine upon us and be gracious, O Lord, to each and every life here today. Give us strength to know that You walk beside us and that we can do all things through Christ who is our keeper. Isaiah 62:1 For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns.

In March of 1965, Martin Luther King, Jr. led many civil rights activists in a nonviolent demonstration from Selma to the capitol steps in Montgomery, Alabama. After a 5-day, 54-mile march campaigning for voting rights, King told the crowd, “There never was a moment in American history more honorable and more inspiring than the pilgrimage of clergymen and laymen of every race and faith pouring into Selma to face danger at the side of its embattled [African Americans].”

Linked arm-in-arm with the leaders of this march, front row and center with Dr. King, was a rabbi by the name of Abraham Joshua Heschel. This Hasidic rabbi was born in Warsaw, but ready to take action to support his friend, Martin Luther King, Jr., who was a staunch supporter of Israel and a very outspoken Zionist.

“Peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect its right to exist, its territorial integrity. I see Israel as one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy. Peace for Israel means security and that security must be a reality. Israel’s right to exist as a state in security is incontestable.”

Today, we honor the memory of a man who stood up for so many…until the day he sacrificed everything for his beliefs. May his memory be a blessing!

Father God, today we ask that You bless the King family. May their continued works for those who suffer wrongdoings be granted favor in your sight. We ask that You bless Israel and the Jewish people. Nothing is hidden from You, Oh God. May their enemies be scattered. We ask that those reading this receive a special blessing from heaven today. May they find comfort in your love, in your mercy and your grace. We thank You for your many blessings today and every day. In Jesus’ name we pray and ask. Amen!
