Presidential Prayer Team; C.P. – Two Seas

Helen Steiner Rice’s poem A Key to Living is Giving compares the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. The Sea of Galilee is fresh water and plants thrive. With no outlets, the Dead Sea is full of salt and nothing grows there. The poem teaches that when you let God’s blessing flow through you like the Jordan flows through the Sea of Galilee, you become productive and full of life.

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

Proverbs 11:24

One extreme of Christian thought says that you claim riches, and if you aren’t materially wealthy, you lack faith. The other extreme believes you should live in poverty. The correct medium is to be a wise steward with all your possessions, time and talents while supporting your family, sharing with those in need, and practicing moderation in all things. “For an overseer, as God‘s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain.” (Titus 1:7)

Be a fresh sea in 2016 – enjoying the blessings God gives you while being a blessing to others. Pray that the people and leaders of America will seek God first, trusting that He will meet their needs.
