Presidential Prayer Team; G.C. – Hidden in the Quiver

ppt_seal01

There’s a plot to eradicate the Jewish race from Earth. Sound familiar? It’s been going on continually since the beginning of their history.

That these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, in every clan, province, and city.

Esther 9:28

One particular scheme, taking place in 474 BC, was gloriously foiled by a young woman named Esther. She was separated from her parents and raised in a foreign kingdom. Her identity as a Jewess was hidden and, as far as anyone knew, she was just another maiden in waiting for the King. Yet at the critical moment, when God had every player on their mark, Esther’s true identity was revealed. Like an arrow expertly placed, Esther’s work pierced through the heart of the enemy’s evil plan. Jewish people still celebrate the days when God used Esther to save them. Esther’s very appropriate name is taken from the Hebrew root “hester,” meaning “hidden.”

Today you may feel like just another Christ-follower facing a hostile culture, but remember Esther! God has a plan for America and, while you may not see how all the pieces fit together, be assured at the right moment your faithful prayers will hit their target. He has chosen you, and will be glorified through you as your obediently intercede.

Presidential Prayer Team; H.L.M. – Take a Risk

ppt_seal01

Esther’s exquisite beauty and character distinguished her in the eyes of Ahasuerus, the king of Persia, who chose her as his queen. Yet it was Esther’s courage that was most notable in the life of this Jewish woman.

Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.

Esther 4:16

When Esther learned that the chief court favorite, Haman, planned to massacre the Jews, she asked her people to fast and pray for three days. Then Esther risked her life by preparing a surprise visit to the king to tell him of Haman’s plans. On the day the Jews were to be slaughtered, Haman was instead executed and Esther’s position as queen was strengthened. It was evident that the Lord was the source of her security.

God has not placed you in your present position for your own benefit. He put you there to serve Him. At times this might require great courage and involve risk. Yet the Lord is always with you and He is faithfully at work. So decide to do what your Heavenly Father wants and trust Him for the outcome. Pray also that America’s leaders will put their security in Jesus Christ instead of possessions, position or reputation.

Greg Laurie – For Just Such a Time

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” —Esther 4:14

I love the story of Esther because in some ways, it reminds me of a fairy tale, except it is true. Esther was a beautiful Jewish girl who was plucked from obscurity, won a beauty contest, and became the queen of the kingdom. Then there was a wicked man named Haman, who hatched a plot to have all of the Jews put to death. It was Esther’s uncle, Mordecai, who came to her and described the plight of her fellow Jews, saying, “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).

Esther was the queen who saved a nation. She used her influence with the king, the plot was averted, and the people were saved. Then, in perfect poetic justice, Haman, the guy who hatched the plot, ended up hanging on the very gallows he had erected for others. She was there behind the scenes. Esther could have said, “I don’t want to jeopardize my position. No one will ever find out I am a Jew. I am going to be careful and play it safe.” But instead, she put everything on the line.

Who knows that God has not put you where you are right now for such a time as this? You may be the only Christian in your family or the only believer in your neighborhood. You may be the only follower of Jesus Christ in your workplace or in your classroom. Like Esther, will you stand up for such a time as this? Will you use your influence where you can, when you can?
