Presidential Prayer Team; P.G. – Vision for America

Helen Keller, probably the best known blind person who has ever lived, once said, “What would be worse than being born blind? To have sight without vision.” Recent polling among American college students reveals the majority have no vision for their lives, their families, or their communities. A George Barna survey recently reported that three-quarters of all churches in America have either peaked in attendance and influence or are on the decline.

Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint.

Proverbs 29:18

In Hebrew, “vision” includes “divine communication.” Could it be that the loss of vision among the youth – and among the churches – is because God is no longer their prime communicator?

God’s vision has always been for the welfare of His children, and that begins with a reconciliation of the world to Him. The part of that vision He entrusts to you will differ from that given to your neighbor, just as the way He equips you both won’t be the same. Do you trust Him enough to do what He has called you to do? Ask for His blessed reassurance today. Intercede for members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus to hold up God’s vision for America as they serve Him and you in the high chambers of the nation.

Presidential Prayer Team; P.G. – Truth Measure

A recent Charisma Magazine article warned that “believers reject moral absolutes for what feels right.” They are falling prey to the relativism of the world’s system. Another study by George Barna said 22 percent of adults believe in moral absolutes; and among those who claim to be born again, only 32 percent. How far God’s people have come from the time of martyr John Huss (1370-1415); he said, “Seek the truth. Listen to the truth. Teach the truth. Love the truth. Abide by the truth and defend the truth…Unto death.”

For my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

Proverbs 8:7

How well do you measure yourself when it comes to standing for absolute truth in this relative age? Have you let the world squeeze you into its mold? Do you fear social backlash for calling evil by its name? Founding Father Alexander Hamilton said, “Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.”

Be encouraged by Jesus’ high priestly prayer when He asked the Father to keep His children in the truth. Know truth by studying His Word of truth – the Bible. Pray that God would illuminate His words for you…and that those who lead America would be courageous and stand for absolute truth.

Presidential Prayer Team; P.G. – Glad to be a Whoever

Researcher George Barna reports 51 percent of people in America believe if a person is generally good, or does enough good things for others during their life, they will earn a place in Heaven. But the infallible Word of God says that just isn’t so! People who put their faith in their own earned way are mistaken.

Whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

In the apostle Paul’s day, many Jews believed their only entrance into Heaven was obeying the Ten Commandments (and another 600+ as well). But zeal for the law was misdirected then, and living by the Commandments or the Golden Rule is not salvation’s means today.

Jesus, who is God, said the only way to God was through Him. Some quarrel with “easy believism.” They say there has to be something more. But Jesus is enough. He is all in all. He is the door, and there is no other way. And the way is open to whoever – no one is excluded.

Share your gladness at being a “whoever” with one of the 51 percent who need to find the Truth. Pray for them to hear, have faith, and believe in God’s provision through Jesus Christ…while there still is time.
